Cataracts-Glaucoma-Macular Degeneration-Best Foods to Prevent and Slow Down Their Progression

Cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration are serious eye
diseases that can cause blindness. They can be prevented, slowed
and controlled by a diet rich in the foods that I mention in the video clip
below provided you have a healthy lifestyle and you preserve an optimal body weight through regular exercise, reducing sweets and saturated fats.

See my video for more details: http://youtu.be/HmO-SSuMSUE

Dos and Don'ts to prevent and slow down rate of progression in cataracts, glaucoma, and  macular degeneration:
  • Do have eye exams regularly.
  • Do give up smoking.
  • Do reduce sugary foods/drinks and refined carbo-hydrates that increase the risk for cataracts and macular degeneration.
  • Do not eat packaged, processed foods.
  • Do not eat fat free foods as they contain artificial fats.
  • Do wear sunglasses, if possible with an amber, brown, or orange tint that blocks blue light.
  • Do eat lots of dark green leafy vegetables (kale, spinach, and collards) as they contain lutein.
  • Do eat lots of foods rich in vitamin C.
  • Do eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids (fatty fish, fish oil, flaxseeds, and some nuts) as it reduces inflammation.
  • Do check your blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels and keep them normal.
  • Do exercise regularly and keep your weight down.
Make time and have your eyes checked at least once a year, exercise regularly to increase the efficiency of your cardiovascular system and blood oxygen levels, and eat a diet rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals to preserve and improve your vision. The sooner you realize you have a problem the higher the probability to cure it naturally. The foods in this presentation can prevent or slow down cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration.
